How to pass SWAYAM/NPTEL Certification Exam.

Good evening Dear Students,

I know , you  can’t  spare much time on this important day as you might be in full preparation for your Sunday’s Swayam/NPTEL Data Science  Certification Exam. Just spare 5 min to go through this blog, which can help you in giving some tips to clear your exam. At a broader look Data Science comes under Artificial intelligence area, hence I opted to pen on this issue to help students gain some confidence and clear the paper. I, Myself, once  took 3 NPTEL courses at once and took exam for all 3 courses in row with 2 exams falling on same day morning, afternoon sessions and third one on next day morning. With that experience, I hope I am eligible to share a few points with you all. Yes, I cleared all the 3 courses and got certified. I was also given with SILVER + ELITE in one of the courses. Consider the following points to clear your exam on Sunday.

1.       Be confident:  You have undoubtedly put in your efforts all these weeks by going through video lectures or submitting assignments. May be a few of you might have done small applications based on concepts learn. End of the day, you are aware of content. Be confident of that point.

2.       Assignments: Make sure you solve as many assignments as possible, ideally all, once again. Give your answers. Check how many you are able to score. Identify the concepts where you are unable to score. Make sure you prepare minimum 75% of total assignments thoroughly i.e. at least 8 out of 12 if course has 12 assignments.

3.       Review Videos: Now concentrate on those video sessions which have concepts related to what you could not score in retrying assignments. Go through them. Its ok you need to spend a couple of hours but it helps in improving your score.

4.       Transcripts: If your course is supplied with transcripts, do download them , take a print and go through them. It is easier to read in short time than to listen to videos.

5.       Remember: If you have done your assignments on our own during course, you can be assured of passing and if you can remember the questions and answers for your assignments, its not tough to score around 70% in exam of certification. Remember, maximum time’s assignment questions cover around 70% of final exam questions, with slight modifications in values sometimes.

6.       Computer Based Exam:  Don’t panic, you would get ample time to revise and re opt if you wish to change our answer.  Generally there wont be negative marking.

7.       Utilization of Time: Even while traveling to exam center, try to revise important lecture videos of your instructor for certain important topics.  During exam numerical takes longer time so be careful with your time management.

8.       Concept: Yes, at least 15%-20% o marks would be highly based on in depth concepts and sometimes application of the very important concepts discussed in course. If you could master the concepts then you would be in top 5%.

9.       PASS: By now you might be knowing what your internal score is . It needs you to score 40% in total to pass. So, calculate minimum marks you need to score to pass and make sure you attempt for  +5 marks at least to be on sure side of passing. Pick up the most confident two marks or three marks questions and appear them in first go and rest is a game you can play as much as possible to improve your score.

 

Note: Avoid last minute rush. Don’t forget to carry documents like Hall Ticket/Id Proof etc.
